Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
In early December 2015 a group met to brain storm “Breaking the Bag habit”.
With an estimated 2500 plastic shopping bags used by us Denmarkians every day /average bag being used for 12 minutes /taking up to 1000 yrs to leave the environment,450 yrs in the ocean/ and causing the death of over a million animals world wide annually ,the group discussed their unified opinion to explore the alternates.
Since this time many successful initiatives have taken place involving our community including making over 4000 bags from up-cycled fabrics.The group, believing there is No Excuse For Single Use has also turned its attention to other initiatives- at present making fruit/veg/nut bags from up-cycled netting and raising awareness of disposable drink cup issues.
