Boomerang Bags Manly
BOOMERANG BAGS MANLY
Our Manly project kicked off in May 2016 thanks to the generous support from a Butcher and a Chef.
We’ve come a long way since then, meeting weekly in the welcoming Manly library to share our message, sort, sew & screen print bags, run workshops, market stalls and school bag drives. Wonderful friendships have been made along the way as we learn, laugh, share and robustly chat about our nation’s environmental policy while instigating positive change in Manly one bag at a time.
To-date we’ve made buckets of tea and repurposed and recycled 7,000 reusable shopping and produce bags and now beeswax wraps for our ocean loving community to buy , borrow and reuse.
All ages welcome and no experience required. If you can’t make our weekly working bees, we’d still love your help with tasks from home or help us in other ways (picking up donations, maintaining sewing machines, hanging up posters, flyer design, spread the word, social media posts, help out at stalls etc.)
Volunteers – approx 5-10 people of all ages attend each week with many also that kiss and drop and sew from home.
Pop in and say hi, we’d love to meet you !
