Balnarring Boomerang Bags

We are a community driven initiative tackling plastic pollution at the grassroots level. The long term goal is to make Balnarring Village ‘plastic bag free’. Volunteers work together to create lovingly handcrafted bags using fabrics recycled from op shops and individuals. Bags will be available for a donation at retail shops with this donation used to meet the cost of labels, machine servicing and marketing materials. We welcome volunteers to help with cutting materials, pinning, ironing, stamping and sewing. No experience necessary – just a passion for providing a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. We work out of ‘The Shack’ – a freestanding building on the grounds of Balnarring Primary School that has been kindly lent to us by the school.
