Boomerang Bags Barrie

Boomerang Bags Barrie has a large goal that can only be accomplished with small and meaningful motions. We are working together to establish a support network for the Barrie Downtown that will eventually be extended to other neighbourhoods throughout the city in order to encourage plastic bag alternatives. Our mission is to start a conversation about consumption and action through community mobilization. Together we are working to provide free reusable bags fabricated out of locally recycled textiles to shops in the Downtown core that can be borrowed by shoppers who have forgotten their reusable bags. The bags can later be returned to any participating location in Barrie.

Currently we are looking for individuals that are able to help with:

a) sourcing recycled fabric/materials

b) collecting recycled fabric/material donations

c) housing donated materials

d) providing spaces/locations for meetings and/or sewing bees

e) sewing

f) distributing

g) community outreach
