Based at Lifestyle Community Village, which is a new over 50’s village at Bittern. We started in Feb 2019. We are an enthusiastic group who enjoy our sewing bees with a lot of laughs and chat, whilst busily swing many bags all in the hope of using less single-use plastic bags.
Bittern is on the Westernport Bay side of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
We welcome all interested people from the broader community as well as within Lifestyle. Even though we sew within the clubhouse we are not exclusive and love to see new members.
We have sewing bees every Wednesday afternoon 1 pm to 3.30 pm in the Multi Purpose Room at Lifestyle Clubhouse 17 Booker Rise Bittern
I have been sewing and distributing Boomerang Bags in Frankston for 18 months and look forward to spreading the word around Bittern.
We are lucky enough to have three ladies from the local area who sew regularly with us. Rachel is co-founder and a tireless worker for BB, we would love to welcome more people from outside our village to encourage all age groups to embrace the Boomerang Bag philosophy to help eliminate to use of single use plastic bags.
We now have our Boomerang Bags available in the Bittern Post Office and Benton Rise Farm Coolart Road Tuerong and Remuce Cafe Bittern. R&K Cafe, C P Cellars Crib Point, High on Fruit Hastings, Petersen’s Bookstore Hastings Hoping to add more businesses shortly.
We are trying to get through a huge store of fabric that has come our way.
We are now screen printing labels, so have a choice of the Red Embroidered labels or screen printed pockets.
Our Motto is now “Fabric not Plastic”
our email address is [email protected]
Due to Covid restrictions we are all sewing at home. We are more than happy to share the sewing. Kits available
