Boomerang Bags Glen Eira – Stitching Sustainability into Our Community

Members of the Glen Eira community come together once a month to transform donated fabric into reusable Boomerang Bags. These bags are distributed to local businesses, helping reduce reliance on single-use plastic and making sustainable choices easier for everyone. It’s a rewarding way to make a positive impact—while connecting with others who care about our environment.

Weekly Sewing Sessions at GEALC

In partnership with the Glen Eira Adult Learning Centre (GEALC), our volunteers also host weekly sewing sessions every Tuesday during school terms, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. These sessions are a welcoming space to:

Learn and share sewing skills
Create Boomerang Bags for local distribution
Enjoy friendly conversation and community connection
Support non-English speaking members in practicing English in a relaxed, inclusive setting
