Boomerang Bags Crested Butte

Boomerang Bags Crested Butte is run by volunteers from Sustainable Crested Butte, a local non-profit whose mission is to promote environment sustainability in the Gunnison Valley through education, advocacy, public outreach, and community initiatives. In addition, Sustainable Crested Butte’s vision is to accelerate the Gunnison Valley’s transformation into a model of global environmental action. Through our advocacy and programs, we empower visitors and community members to champion environmental sustainability. Boomerang Bags Crested Butte is an invaluable program that encourages community collaboration and brings awareness to the consequences of single-use waste items such as plastic bags. Crested Butte is a community of about 1,700 people at 9,000 ft. elevation and despite the isolation, the Boomerang Bag program has 20 participating locations in town and on Mt. Crested Butte!
