Boomerang Bags Park County, Montana
Boomerang Bags is a community-driven initiative tackling plastic pollution at the grassroots level. This group is located in Park County, MT. Dedicated volunteers, schools and community groups get together to make re-useable bags using recycled materials as a means to provide a sustainable alternative to plastic bags.
Our community contact is Colleen Ferris, Community Manager at Park County Environmental Council (PCEC). This is a community collaboration between PCEC, Park High Green Initiative, dedicated volunteers and our business partners: Mountain Air Sports and Crown Creations Cabinet Makers.
Anyone may borrow a bag, pass it on or bring it back to any one of our participating stores:
Livingston: Town & Country Foods, Foodworks, Public Library, PCEC booth at Farmers Market
Shields Valley: Glenn’s Shopping Center
Community Sewing Bee’s are held three to four times a year; the location of the bees are rotated around the county. Anyone is welcome, no sewing experience necessary!
Where should people donate materials?:
Donated materials is much appreciated! Folks may coordinate with Colleen to drop off fabric (washed please), thread, etc. at the PCEC office. Material can also be brought to any sewing bee! Contact Colleen with any questions or to organize a drop off/pick up. Thank you!
