Boomerang Bags Adelaide Hills
We have started a Boomerang Bags group in the Adelaide Hills. Sewing bee will be held 1st Wednesday of the month 9.30am to 1.30pm at The Mount Barker Community Center (next to TAFE) 3 Dumas Street Mount Barker SA 5251. Boomerang bags are fabric bags handmade from recycled material (destined for landfill) and used as shopping bags. They are for to people to use instead of plastic bags. If anyone is interested in helping to put the bags together please contact Anastasia via https://www.facebook.com/boomerangbagsadelaidehills/ or e: boomerangbagsadelaidehills@gmail.com
What to bring to our monthly sewing bee, if you have: Sewing machines & overlockers, fabric cutting scissors, sewing thread, unwanted fabric(sheets, pillow cases, doona covers) ready for recycling.
We have the use of a drop down trolley to transport your machines & fabrics from the TAFE car park to the Mount Barker Community Centre.
We are also looking for donations of suitable clean patterned & coloured fabric such as old sheets, pillowcases, doona covers, that are not required any more. We are also looking for sheer netting or scrim curtains suitable to make vegetable bags to substitute for the plastic ones in supermarkets. Any donations could be dropped off Saturdays, at the Adelaide Hills Farmers market on Mann St, Mount Barker between 9am & 12 noon.
We will be distributing finished bags through the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market each Saturday & money raised to go to charity.
Any donations could be dropped off at the Adelaide Hills Farmers market on Mann St, Mount Barker, Saturdays between 8.30am & 12 noon.
If anyone is interested in helping to put the bags together please contact me via this page.
Thank you in anticipation
