Boomerang Bags Sudbury

We are a group of Junior Girl Scouts (5th Graders) who are starting this Boomerang Bag chapter at our local library maker space. We have already received six generous donations of fabric and sewing supplies from the local community of Sudbury.

We welcome any additional donations of fabric, notions, Rubbermaid storage containers, or snacks. Through our fundraising selling Girl Scout cookies and through bake sales this year, we raised money to donate USD$300 for the purchase of sewing supplies and to pay for room rentals to get this Boomerang Bag Sudbury chapter off the ground in our community. This is the project we selected to do to earn our Bronze Award before we advance to Cadets in September 2019.

Our first sewing bee “Sewcial” was Sat, June 29, 10 am-2 pm at the Goodnow Library Sara Sherman NOW Lab makerspace – WE HAD MANY WHO CAME AND JOINED US TO SEW, IRON, CUT, MEASURE, DONATE, ENTERTAIN, OR JUST TO MEET US. We now have a donation bin set up in the lobby of the Goodnow Library, please bring any donations you might have to the library lobby at 21 Concord Road.

Thank you for coming out! We met 10 new neighbors who came out and donated or cut or measured or packaged or all of the above! WATCH THIS SPACE FOR OUR NEXT SEWCIAL.

We are now certified as community volunteers so we can use the Goodnow Library Sara Sherman NOW Lab as a home for Boomerang Bags.

Thanks,

Cara, Maria, Sophia, Aviv (& Mrs. Lynch)
