Boomerang Bags New Hampshire
Boomerang Bags NH started in Fall 2017 thanks to Boomerang Pokastöðin Hornafjörður Iceland for providing reusable shopping bags in the market. One of their bags travelled back to the U.S. and inspired us to start the first Boomerang community in New Hampshire!
My friend Kathy Parker jumped right in teaching her elementary students at the Riddlebrook School in Bedford, NH how to create bags. The students created a puppet show, puppet theater and presentation for the entire school. Each teacher and classroom received a Boomerang Bag.
Since then, we have a home base at Beaver Brook Nature Center in Hollis NH. We have broadened our efforts to offer sewing bees in all area town libraries, at the nature center, in schools and shops that want to be plastic-bag free. We visit STEM Fairs, expos and try to fill requests and give away as many cloth bags as possible.
Much thanks to the Boomerang originators in Australia and to those in Iceland who informed and inspired us!
