Boomerang Bags Montclair, NJ

n/a

Inspired by a conversation about the NJ state plastic bag ban at a Montclair Environmental Commission meeting, I got my hometown, Montclair, NJ, designated as a Boomerang Bags community. Now volunteers meet on rotating date, times, and locations to make Boomerang Bags from donated material. Sign up here for newsletters to be notified of the next Sewing Bee!

The bags we make will be shared with the Montclair community as a contribution toward fostering sustainable practices and reducing plastic bag use. If we make enough bags at our Sewing Bees, volunteers are welcome to have one as a thank you for helping to make them or for donating material!

This project is being organized by the Montclair Creative Reuse Project.

Would your business like to have Boomerang Bags available for your customers? Contact me to make that happen! Do you or someone you know have materials or time to donate? I’d love to get a message about that too!

-Claire Cohen, Owner of Montclair Made and Founder of the Montclair Creative Reuse Project
